PsychoFun β Major Development Update π₯
βοΈ P6 to P20 Gear Progression
A major part of our gear progression system is now prepared.
We've been working on gear sets from P6 all the way through P20, while also making sure different specializations receive equipment that actually fits their playstyle.
We don't want a Shaman, for example, to be stuck with one universal option regardless of how they play. That's why we're preparing separate melee and spell-focused variants.
The same approach is being taken with Feral and spell Druids, Paladins, Monks and other hybrid classes.
Our goal is for every class and specialization to have meaningful equipment throughout its progression.
β¨ New & Fixed Spells
Class development is moving forward as well.
New or reworked abilities have been prepared for Mage, Death Knight, Priest, Warlock, Warrior and Rogue, while several Druid abilities have also received fixes.
Everything is gradually being tested by our GM team and testers. When something doesn't behave correctly, we want to find and fix it now rather than after the server opens.
π Quest System Improvements
We've also solved an annoying issue affecting some of the original quests.
Certain quests could automatically appear in a player's Quest Log without the player actually choosing to accept them. This could happen when entering particular areas or through different events in the game world.
We've reworked this behavior to give us much better control over when quests are given to players.
Normal quest acceptance from NPCs remains fully available.
This is especially important for PsychoFun because we're building our own content and progression around the original game.
ποΈ Safe Shared Areas for Alliance & Horde
Another new feature is our system for neutral areas, designed for shared locations and shops.
Inside these locations, Alliance and Horde will be able to coexist without normally being able to attack each other.
One of the locations being prepared for this purpose is Ramkahen, which can now serve as a shared neutral area.
But we're not removing all the fun. π
Duels will still be allowed. If two players voluntarily challenge each other and both accept, they'll still be able to fight inside these safe areas.
No random killing while you're shopping β but an agreed fight is absolutely fine. βοΈ
π§ Database & Server Fixes
A lot of development is also happening behind the scenes.
We're continuing to fix database errors, GameObject issues, older systems, problematic parts of the original server foundation and other bugs discovered during internal testing.
This is exactly why the server remains locked for now. We want to use this testing period to find and resolve as many issues as possible before PsychoFun opens to players.
π§ Development Continues
PsychoFun isn't at the public launch stage yet.
Right now, the server is being developed and tested by our GM team and testers. Every testing session helps us discover something that can be improved, rebuilt or fixed.
We're gradually putting all the pieces together β classes, spells, equipment, quests, the world itself and our own custom systems.
PsychoFun is getting stronger with every update. π₯
When the time finally comes to open the gates, we want there to be a world behind them that we've put real work into building.
